SYRPER’S ZIAD INTERVIEWED ON STAGGENBORG’S SHOW SATURDAY

Soldiers for Peace

We are delighted to report to our readers that Ziad will make his third appearance on Rick Staggenborg’s Soldiers for Peace radio program on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. EDT or 9:00 a.m. Pacific time.  The subject will be new developments in the Syrian front.  I will post the program once it’s over to let my readers listen to it.  I will be traveling today so don’t expect any long narratives until Sunday morning.

James Foley

The alleged execution of James Foley is beginning to look more and more like a hoax.  As I study the full tape of his “beheading” I see significant differences between the manifestations of severing his vital arteries and those of Paul Berg, the Pennsylvanian Jewish entrepreneur who traveled to post-war Iraq to make a killing and wound up being killed by Abu Mus’ab Al-Zarqaawi.  This tape of Foley gives me hope he is still alive. This Hollywood-style tape, as edited,  is being used by CIA to create this international furor in order to justify Obama’s idiotic foray into Syria to stop the massive advance of the SAA and its destruction of Nusra and ISIS.  Stay tuned.  It’s no different than Kerry’s Sarin gas fiasco.  (Read Penny’s article posted yesterday in SyrPer).

Sameeh Al-Qaassem

العلم السوري يتقدم تشييع جثمان الشاعر سميح القاسم في الرامة

The Syrian flag was prominent at the funeral of the great Druze Palestinian poet, Sameeh Al-Qaassem, yesterday in Al-Raama, Occupied Palestine.  He was a true nationalist.  It is a standing disgrace to his memory that the liar and traitor, Faysal Al-Qaassem, who regularly rants and raves on Al-Jazeera, is a relative of this great Palestinian Muwahhid patriot.

NEWS AND COMMENT:

If some of you still don’t believe Obama is an idiot and hypocrite, read this:

Ziad, best of luck in the interview, the last two ones were simply fantastic and raised global awareness of this ugly war against Syrians. Will be listening to your words.

Absolutely embarrassing that anyone that lives on American soil would suggest the Foley murder was a hoax. Why don’t you tell that to his grieving family? Let me guess, you believe it is a Zionist/CIA plot to ……. (insert crazy theory of the day)

when you have a government and a media that has a track record of telling scandalous lies. you cannot blame people for being cynical about the foley case. it is the boy who cried wolf syndrome
. when you consider the motives involved eg the reinvasion of iraq, the overthrow of maliki and talk of ”chasing ” isis into syria as a consequence of the foley incident. it is obvious it could be fake. and not that crazy. it would be far ”crazier” to fully accept what a bunch of proven liars say

Good luck on the radio show. I hope Ziad addresses the threat that the Pentagon is considering ratcheting up the aggression against Syria (under the guise of attacking ISIS). According to the New York Times, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dempsey (Obama’s main military advisor) said at a Pentagon Press conference yesterday: “The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria cannot be defeated unless the United States or its partners take on the Sunni militants in Syria. “Can they be defeated without addressing that part of the organization that resides in Syria? The answer is no.” “General Dempsey… Read more »

At least one troll been promoted up to Cesar level, while I was one of the very first in times of Syrias desolate position two years ago when I cried to Ziad ” hold the line ” , the Mother of God is with Greater Syria. Believe me or not all along my warnings became true. I’m not such a fool to outlay the winners strategy before the eyes of enemies. Now you can see once more what you have been told many times before. ESEL caravans are a make believe garnished by utmost exaggerated lies, disinformation, hoax videos and… Read more »

Dear Ziad, What is your perspective on the possibility of improving relations between USA and Syria? Only a short time ago this question would appear absurd, and maybe it still does, but I have hope. Doesn’t the common enemy of ISIS bring new hope for cooperation between them? Other nations with a terrible past history between them have successfully pursued peace and cooperation in the past. I am embarassed by my country’s support of the FSA, and the dishonest press description of them as “moderates”. I never believed for a second the claim that Syria had used chemical weapons, no… Read more »

Assad Dam (next to Tabqa Airbase) + Mosul Dam = power to drown all of central and southern Iraq using both the Tigris and Euphrates Ask yourselves who will benefit the most from this? Syria and Iraq’s national army — not regional or sectarian militias, proxies, or foreign forces — MUST to control these two WMDs. After all, Colin Powell is on record saying that when devising war strategies against Iraq in ’91, that in retaliation for defending against US and coalition forces, the US had drawn up plans to blow all of the dams on the Tigris and Euphrates.… Read more »

From http://www.alalam.ir: “Britain’s former head of the army Lord Dannatt suggested the West needed to recognize that it had misread the situation in Syria… and seek the government’s assistance in combating ISIS. “Lord Dannatt said the so-call Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group had to be “opposed, confronted and defeated” in both Iraq and Syria – “The Syrian dimension has got to be addressed. You cannot deal with half a problem,” he said. “I think it’s going to have to have some resonance with our relationship with Assad.” Dannatt continued: “I think whether it is above… Read more »

It is disgusting that Russia has allowed a situation where the US can come through the back door and attack Syria under the pretext of fighting ‘ISIS barbarity’. Passing a resolution under chapter 7 which allows the US complete freedom to attack anywhere in the world without regard to sovereign borders shows the real face of Russia’s political elite and its subservience to US/Israeli policies, and this isn’t the first time they have unleashed NATO on disobedient countries. It is my view that the whole Arab Spring project was worked out between the capitals of London, Washington, Paris, Berlin, Moscow,… Read more »

Folks I told you months ago that isis would be used as a boogeyman and we see that happening today. I look forward to the assault on raqqa to being successful so as to break the back of isis.

The western neo cons have said isis is going to bomb a city and that they are the worst threat ever. Now we have the sub text to bomb syria in direct opposition to reality. Dont believe the hype.

I look forward to the interview.

The only reason I can see why Dr. Assad would not want English and American help would be if the SAA wants ISIS to weaken the FSA even more. If the Americans and English get flight access to Syria it will be because they have made massive concessions to Dr. Assad

As time passes and is increasingly clear that “Osama´s hunters” do nothing against IS, will be evident to the skeptics that behind the caliphate is the hand of Israel and its allies. America must deal also with the inevitable fact that President Bashar al-Assad will win this war soon, possible as many assume that just having dealings with Iran, may be tempting some level of agreement with the Syrian government for amnesty to the mercenaries of the FSA, to retry years later a coup d’etat or win elections by a puppet

Patrick Cockburn has an interesting article, available on Liveleak, entitled: ‘West poised to join forces with Assad’. It is worth reading for this quote alone:

“Freeman [former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia] says that he doubted that the liberal interventionists and neoconservatives who had pursued regime change in Syria were capable of reversing course. To do so would require them to admit that they bore
considerable responsibility for legitimising pointless violence that has resulted in the deaths of 190,000 Syrians.”

I have watched the Foley ‘execution’ or at least the talk leading up to it, You don’t actually see the full execution only the British IS member starting to, or appearing to cut at Foleys throat and then the video ends, the next thing we see is Foley’s body with his decapitated head resting on his torso. Something about the whole video doesn’t look or seem genuine, I have a feeling that if Foley was actually killed (as some people doubt) he may have agreed to denounce the US and their foreign policy and say everything his captors ordered him… Read more »

It seems the actual “de facto” Aleppo encirclement is about to happen, news of Jbeileh finally totally liberated will create a safety buffer zone for the SAA to crush terrorist and traitor resistance in the Handarat camp, the last piece of the funnel cork available for rats to flee Aleppo. Note that there are two vital Roads for rats to flee Aleppo, the Castillo highway crosses Jbeileh, this is the most important road to the Turkish boarder, and now it completely sealed and underr control, the other is the road that crosses Handarat Village, NE of Handarat camp, the SAA… Read more »

Wonder whether this is a reliable information below. This could prove handy for the SAA to free up more troops.

“Some groups within the so-called ‘Free Syrian Army’ have entered a dialogue with the Syrian government’s armed forces. Moreover, Free Syrian Army’s founder Riad Asaad said in his Twitter blog yesterday that some FSA battalions wanted to re-join the ranks of the Syrian Army and fight against IS under the Syrian state banner,” Abdallah Ali told Rossiya Segodnya news agency.”

It has gotten too hard to take you seriously anymore, Ziad. That “Soldiers for Peace” operation are a bunch of off-their-meds conspiracy theorists. Though, with your “The Joos are behind every conflict in the world that involves Muslims, it’s never the Muslims’ fault” worldview, I suppose you would fit in nicely. Now with this nonsense about the U.S. (I presume, at the behest of them Joos) faking the beheading of Foley and putting his family through the wringer, whatever credibility you had is pretty much gone (to the sane, at least). I wish the free people of Syria well in… Read more »

Sorry to see you go, Sean. Healthy debate needs a diversity of views. We see a lot of wacky views here but we also see lots of useful information and analysis about the war against Syria. As long as the latter dominates the former, and so far it does, this is a place worth visiting. Good luck to you wherever you go; your heart is in the right place.

Syria: Army battles Islamic State militants at Al-Tabaqqa airbase
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b68_1408815953#w537tJKuVfMiYwhu.99

Old T-55 tanks, Gazelle helicopters, World War 1 barrel bombs. FFS, when I was drafted back in the 80s, we had much better stuff!

Where is tne high tech stuff? I don’t think the problem is that the troops aren’t motivated, they do lack intel / high tech.

Been talking to ISIS terrorists all day, and let me tell you something, “THEY ARE “F-ING” CRAZY!” Rapping, Killing and stealing whatever they want. Taking child slaves is a big plus and rapping women for their benefit (so the women can get closer to Allah). They will never stop fighting until death and the only border to their state is the front line. All crimes are justified for, “the cause”. It’s like all the most violent criminals in your city were let out at once and allowed to roam around. Now I know where the word “moderate” comes from. If… Read more »

More good news from Aleppo. Mount Azzan liberated south of Aleppo.
SAA , after liberating the strategic village of Jbeileh near the Aleppo Central Prison, the Syrian Arab Army continued its attack up in the highway toward Turkish border at Al-Muslimiyyah. The SAA was able to secure two neighborhoods inside the village, forcing the Islamic State militants to reinforce their positions.

Tabqa airbase still holding out against the Islamic State The assault of Tabqa airbase largely came as unexpected as it was thought Kweres airbase would be next on the list. The reason for focussing on Tabqa instead might have something to do with the status of this base. Strategically located, the fall of the base provides a free card for the Islamic State to expand their base of operations deeper into Syria. Although a renewed offensive on Aleppo might seem a more obvious move for the Islamic State, when captured there is nothing in between the Islamic State and Tadmor… Read more »

Al Arabiya is a media mouthpiece of Saudi Arabia. I was amazed to find an opinion piece on their website today advocating that the West and Gulf States should call off the war on Syria and co-operate with Assad to destroy ISIS. The article by Dr. Theodore Karasik says, inter alia: “The Syrian National Coalition urged the international community to “quickly support the Free Syrian Army with weapons and ammunition” so it could “defend its people” around Aleppo. This plea is not what America requires: The United States needs to coordinate with the Syrian government in order to succeed in… Read more »

Ziad, could you enlighten us about the worrying news from Tabqa? I’m confident enought that it was a tactical retreat (the SAA knew ISIS was massing hordes of cannibals for frontal assaults), I just hope it was safe and clean and the lowest amount of losses were taken and hope the generals are already at work for finnding the counter-measures for a counter-attack.
