Hi,

Just a short note to mention that I agree with you that
Facebook is a high handed bunch, a law unto themselves,
who operate anonymously.

I think it high time we created a forum like facebook, but without the rules.

Also, I want to create a blog like yours, but mine will be devoted to discussions regarding a carbon-neutral/sustainable US economy.

Could you please privately email me in this regard?

Specifically, I need guidance as to how to set one up.

My email is:

goprisko@publicresearchinstitute.org

Warmly,

In case you’re unaware of it, another website that has an incomplete set of reports of daily fighting incidents is http://www.documents.sy/news.php?lang=en Syrianperspective.blogspot has not reported fighting incidents in Raqqa province in the past 7 days. The Documents.sy site has two smallish incidents at al-Tabaqa and Ain Issa. It is a mystery to me how it is that the Syrian army is unable to take the fight to the rebels in Raqqa. People have commented that Raqqa is not a strategic priority for the army. I can accept that as true. But the fact that the people of Raqqa are still… Read more »

What a sad joke. Ever heard of Climate-Gate. Google The Telegraph UK. Even nasa claims now that CO2 causes cooling. We have data that shows CO2 follows warming by 800 years, we note that a single volcanic eruption releases more CO2 than man has made since the Ind. Revolution, that in the 1500s warm period when Greenland was green and grapes grew in Scotland, CO2 was much LOWER than today, we have Arctic ice this Feb breaking all previous records for increase, etc. Plants thrive on CO2, ie more food. Greenhouses pump CO2 in. So why do you want carbon… Read more »

Hello Ziad!I have read and heard some troubling news from Aleppo, seems like the insurgents have cut off supply routes into certain parts of the city, punishing the civilian population indiscriminately. http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/09-07-2013/125063-syrian_opposition-0/http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE9680O520130709?irpc=932 And here an interview by Syrian Girl, who supports the syrian government, with a witness in the city of Aleppo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gmApY8qd2-I Do u have any info on this? Are the syrian army forces in the area capable of re-opening the supply routes into the blockaded parts of Aleppo to improve the situation of civilians? I fear that if the government does not act quickly on this the people… Read more »

Another great day, so I counted all the dead terrorists, mercenaries rats listed
its 163 DEAD terrorists, very, very impressive
I think that soldiers who kill the most terrorists rats should get promoted to be
GENERALS in the army, like the Russians did were when they were fighting Germans
I would promote the soldiers that kill most terrorists to become GENERALS
and I would increase their sallaries 10 times, they deserve it, for fighting
those obnoxious terrorists rats.
LONG LIVE BRAVE SYRIAN ARAB ARMY
LONG LIVE BRAVE MAN PRESIDENT BASHAR AL ASSAD
LONG LIVE SYRIA

Please brother, when writing about events in Damascus,Homs,Daara,Ildib or Aleppo then mark on wikimapia the exact location and hang the link. It is 3 seconds (http://old.wikimapia.org/#lat=33.5520094&lon=36.3559578&z=15&l=0&m=b&v=8&gz=0;363472795;335466884;3005;0;0;25752;29183;22175;30470;1430;6009;1073 ). When you write “SAA killed terrorists near a restaurant, petrol station, car showroom …” for us who are not from this town that does not mean anything. Greetings from Serbian Republic (Serbian part of Bosnia), and all people here support SAA because we were also fighting against Al-Qaeda and Western hypocrites and U.S. bombs were falling on our heads ( and U.S. airplanes were falling from the sky to ). From the Wahabi… Read more »

Ziad doesn’t report all of them (probably too long to write). It’s hardly under 400/day normally, not 163.

This clip is of rodent tunnels in Al Kabune .Notice the Russian “civilian” in the white shirt.I doubt his expertise is in journalism neither is he a tunnel tourist. Well worth a watch.

The news I would like to hear from Aleppo is that the food embargo by the Foreign Slave Army has been broken. That comes before anything else.

I hate to be an arm-chair warrior, but people are starving.

Even Al Jazz Era, with its normal blatant anti Dr Assad lies, this morning was on a defensive note towards the civilians in Aleppo, saying the nasty rebels had cut off their acces to food etc. Maybe the Noo Sheeeek is slowly changing the play??

Ramadan in Damascus more festive this year but prices soar (The name of the reporter has been withheld for security reasons) * Ramadan mood in Damascus more festive this year * City residents feel more secure * But many frustrated by food shortages DAMASCUS, July 10 (Reuters) – As Ramadan began, the mood in Damascus was more festive than a year ago, reflecting perhaps a greater sense of security as government troops make gains against the rebel insurgency. Many Damascenes have returned from abroad to spend the Muslim holy month with loved ones. Food shops were abuzz with shoppers and… Read more »

LATE NIGHT MEAL But Ramadan is traditionally a month of nocturnal activities, especially when falls in summer. During the day, fasting Muslims stay indoors to avoid the heat and to rest. At night, after they break their fast and spend time in prayer, people go out for a stroll and a late night meal, or visit family with all their children in tow. In 2010, these Ramadan festivities seemed to have reached a peak. Restaurants and private parties for the meal of Suhur – the final meal before sunrise – went on all night. The scene was so festive that… Read more »

Read more »

Sources confirm that an israeli F-16 of an unknown configuration was shot down over the Mediterranean sea after it launched a cruise missile at a target in Lattakia. The aircraft was destroyed but the pilots ejected and were rescued by the israeli navy. The israelis use standoff missiles in an attempt to overcome the Syrian air defense system and also target it when possible. In this case, an undisclosed air defense missile with a very long range struck the israeli aircraft, breaking the standoff. No confirmation has been made by military sources as to whether the cruise missile struck its… Read more »

I just have a wild question regarding the Alawi’s. I thought lets ask it here.

They have some *ahum* ‘unorthodox’ beliefs. But what strikes me as the most odd is that one cannot convert to their sect. Isn’t God/Allah for everyone?

The question that it raises is what does a non-Alawi has to do to gain the favour of God in their doctrine? Believe and wait until he is reborn (they believe in this appearantly) as an Alawi?
